Lead Statuses

Lead statuses are labels used to organize contacts added to your account. We've simplified them to just three clear options so your team can qualify or rule out contacts in seconds — keeping your database lean and your focus sharp.

The Three Lead Statuses

  • New
The contact was just added and there has been no interaction yet. Perfect for fresh imports, form submissions, or business cards.

  • Qualified
This contact fits your ideal customer profile and is worth pursuing right now. They’ve replied, booked a meeting, or you’ve confirmed they have budget/authority/need. This is your “call/meet today” list.

  • Unqualified
Not a fit or not the right timing. A reason is always required so you can learn from every “no”.

When a contact is ready to buy → create a Deal. Your full custom pipeline takes over from there.

Why entering a reason matters

Always selecting an Unqualified reason takes just one second and turns every “no” into actionable insight.
Without the reason, every lost contact looks identical — with it, your data instantly tells the team exactly why it didn't work out.

How to update a Lead Status

  1. Go to Contacts (under Customers)
  2. Find the contact
  3. Click the Menu (three dots)
  4. Choose Mark as Qualified / Unqualified
  5. Pick New, Qualified, or Unqualified
  6. If Unqualified → choose the reason
  7. Click Save

Quick team guidelines

  • New → fresh import, form, or business card
  • Qualified → they replied, booked a meeting, or clearly fit your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
  • Unqualified → wrong fit, no budget, silence, competitor, duplicate, etc.

Benefits you'll see immediately

  • Fewer zombie contacts
  • Cleaner views and reports
  • Clear patterns from Unqualified reasons (fix targeting fast)
  • Sales reps start their day knowing exactly who to call

That's it — three statuses, one required reason, zero clutter.
